浸潤性胸腺腫術後8年目に肝転移をきたした1例

A case of liver metastasis eight years after surgery for invasive thymoma

胸腺腫は胸腺上皮細胞から発生する腫瘍であり，縦隔腫瘍の20～30％を占めるとされる。比較的良好な臨床経過を示すが，時に隣接臓器に浸潤する。また，まれに肝臓をはじめとした胸郭外臓器に遠隔転移を認めることがあるが，その頻度については明らかではない。今回我々は浸潤性胸腺腫の術後8年目に肝転移をきたした症例を経験したため，文献的考察を加えて報告する。

Thymoma is a tumor arising from thymic epithelial cells and accounts for 20-30％ of mediastinal tumors. It shows a relatively favorable clinical course, but occasionally invades adjacent organs and, in rare cases, causes distant metastasis to extrathoracic organs. We experienced a case of invasive thymoma with liver metastasis eight years after surgery. Thymoma can infrequently cause distant extrathoracic metastases, including the liver. In some cases, such as our case, metastasis is discovered after a long period of time after treatment, so long-term follow-up with CT including extrathoracic CT is recommended.
