 Our goal is to propose a suitable nursing practice terminology model for the electronic medical record system. For the goal, it is necessary to understand the realities of the system in the nursing section in Japan. This paper reports the preliminary hearing investigation result of the execution to understand the realities of the system. This investigation objects are 50 hospitals of 24 hospitals with more than 400 beds and 26 hospitals with less than 400 beds in total, and these are selected from each region where the country were divided into six. The results are 1) the system introduction increases rapidly until 2004 on the boundary of 2002, 2) hospitals where the nursing section took part in the introduction decision of the system are few, 3) the outline of the nursing support systems, the advantage and the problem after the system is introduced, become clear, 4) the importance of the review of nursing records, and clarifying necessary nursing information for the system, and the organization of them are suggested.
