  • Look Inside

The decrease of core temperature during surgery is an undesirable state, sometimes leading to such serious conditions as severe hypotension, peripheral circulatory disturbance, shivering and delay of emergence. It is commonly believed that an increase in CO2 gas flow volume during laparoscopic surgery with pneumoper-itoneum leads to a reduction of core temperature, however, there have not been enough events proving the correlation between CO2 gas flow volume and reduction of core temperature during laparoscopic surgery. In this study, we reconfirm the effects of CO2 gas flow volume on the reduction of core temperature.
