 It has been 25 years since a special class for hard of hearing children was established in 1960 at Uchisange Primary School in Okayama City. The history of the class was reviewed and the summary was as follows :

 1) Though the number of hard of hearing children was decreased, the severity of hearing loss was increased.

 2) Selection of the children was not depended on the severity of hearing loss.

 3) Association with a deaf school became popular.

 4) Because of studying in ordinary class, children became to have clear pronunciation, better hearing and good sociality.

 5) The children graduated from a junior high school wanted to have a senior high school.
