 A case of herpes simplex infection in a 59-year-old female was reported. This patient was characteristic of lesion of the epiglottis. Initial infection was severe, spread to the larynx, pharynx, oral cavity and lips, and was supposed as primary infection. Recurrence was noticed thrice and the majority of the lesion was localized to the epiglottis.

 Herpes simplex infection at the Dermatological Clinic of Tokai University Hospital was statistically reported. Distribution of 138 patients consists of two peaks ; a low peak in infants and a high peak in twenties and thirties. The younger the age, the more extensive the lesion of herpes simplex was.
