  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

On the pronunciation of the Latin generic names and the specific epithets of plants, W.T. Stearn states in his famous book of Botanical Latin,"a consisted method of pronoucing them dose not exist".

However, the author had invented a new method for pronunciation of Latin words and showed in this paper that, if it be applied Latin terms may be easily pronounced, utilizing for examples the Latin terms used in otolaryngology.

The author further maintains that, by following the author's simple method, anyone in any country may easily pronounce Latin technical terms, not only in otolarygology but also in the entire sphere of science, as long as he is capable of reading Roman Alphabet.
