Therapeutic effect of locally injected bleomycin for treatment of patients affected with visible carcinoma of the head and neck, particularly the oral cancer or for the post-operative patients with maxillary cancer, was tested for the period of 6 years from 1970 to 1975.

By this treatment, the disappearance of the cancer was recognized in 4 out of 5 in primary cases and 6 out of 7 in residual or partially resected cases. The prolongation of life was noted in 4 out of 10 in the end-staged or advanced cases.

The side-effect was noted in one patient, as an impairment of the pulmonary functions.
