  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

For the diagnosis of post-operative maxillary cyst pantomography was supplemented in addition to the usual X-ray examination. The results obtained somewhat surpassed those examined by Water's projection alone, though the total number of cases examined were only 22. Pantomography revealed a well-defined radiolucency in the alveolar bone in many cases.

The reason for obtaining better results in pantomography in comparison to Water's projection appear to rest in the fact that the former is better suited to reveal the picture of the floor of the maxillary sinus.

However, the pantomography should not be employed to replace the Water's projections but, both methods should be combined for overcoming and covering the shortcomings of each.
