  • Look Inside

A case of temporal bone tumor (osteogenic sarcoma) is reported. A posture induced nystag-mus was manifested. By opening the mouth the patient was affected with a vertical rotatory nystagmus (downwards and anticlockwise). By opening the mouth during stepping test a sudden posture changes reeling the bodyback-wards and to the left occurred.

It is quite possible that the nystagmus and posture changes may have originated from the stimulation of the right anterior semicircular canal.

The source of transmission of pressure energy from the mandibular movement to the inner ear canal is fully discussed.
