喉頭摘出後長年月を経て再発（？）をみた4症例について

RECURRENCE OF LARYNGEAL CANCER AFTER A LAPSE OF CONSIDERABLE TIME INTERVAL

　I．はじめに

　喉頭癌の遠隔治療成績としての5年治癒率は，癌腫の進展度，頸部リンパ節転移の有無，治療法の相違などのために，報告者によつて多少，異なつているが，全体としては，大体60％程度のようであり，手術例のみの治癒成績は，それを少し上回るようである。

　さて，5年以上経過した症例は，通例，永久治癒と見なされ，それらの症例の再発の報告はきわめて稀であるようであるが，われわれは，喉頭癌手術後，約23年，16年，30年，32年という長年月を経過したのちに局所に癌が発生した4症例を経験したのでここに報告する。

　The author reported 4 cases of laryngeal cancer who had been treated by radical laryngectomy and who had had no recurrence for 24 years, 16 years, 30 years and 32 years respectively, and thereafter were affected again by cancer.

　The author believes the resurgence of the affection is the result of reactivation of the cancer cells that may have been lying dormant for number of years.
