脳波における強度別嗅刺激実験

A STUDY ON THE SENSE OF SMELL BY BRAIN WAVE CHANGES

　Ⅰ．緒言

　感覚刺激による脳波の諸反応を応用しての他覚的検査法は従来より，特に聴覚に関しては幾多の研究と報告が見られる。即ち他覚的聴力検査法への応用はMarcus，Gibbs ＆ Gibbsを初めとしてPerl，Galambos ＆ Glorig，其他Tato，Derbyshire等の報告があり，本邦に於いては，伊藤，杉，岩間，山本，板倉，北尻，河村，浅輪鈴木等の詳細な研究報告が見られる。

　然し乍ら嗅覚刺激による脳波の反応に就いては先の我々の報告の中で述べた通り，極めて少数の研究が見られるだけである。即ち本邦に於いては僅に中原，中島等の研究とその嗅覚検査への応用が報告されていただけであったので，我々は，あらためて基本的な面から系統的に実験し，諸反応を整理総括して発表した。

　Using brain wave as an index of stimulation the threshold value of the sense of smell was sought. The subjects of this test composed of 20 individuals whose sense of smell was normal; the object of smell consisted of strawberry essence diluted to various strengths. The response was 10% when the dilution was 6400 times; 45% at 1600 times; 55% at 800 and 200 times alike; 65% at 50 times; 70% when there were no dilution. Changes in respiration curves were recognised in 30% of the number examined.
