Kachi reports a case of temporal bone infection that resulted in a complete seques-tration of the petrous pyramid including the semicircular canals and a portion of the vestibule-the entitety of which was removed en toto at the time of the operation. A woman aged 23 affected with congenital syphilis susfered chronic otitis media for the period of 10 years which resulted in post-auricular fistula formation. Other signs of the disease were manifested by interstitial keratitis with marked decrease of vision, a complete facial paralysis and pharyngeal abcess, general malaise and severe headache. The patient was operated upon because of advanced temporal bone infections on both side of the head.
