気道異物或は気道狭窄を疑わせた乳児肺臓炎の4例について

　最近佐野，藤井等によつて新生児乃至乳幼児に流行性に見られるウイルス肺炎が報告され，HVJが分離されその感染によることが述べられてより本病に対する関心が高かまりつつあるが吾々は昭和30年12月より本年3月にかけて気管支炎様症状を以つて発病し経過するうちに突然高度の呼吸困難と咳嗽を来たし重篤に陥り比較的短時日のうちに死亡せる4例を経験しその全例を剖検し得，更に1例についてはウイルス学的検索を行つた。

Sekine and associates report 4 cases of pne-umonitis amoug infants aged 2 to 5 months, that suggested symptoms either, tracheal for-eign body or,tracheal constriction. However, no evidence of foreign body or constriction was found by endoscopy and/or X-ray examina-tion.Use of considerable amount of antibiotics against this condition proved to be without avail and the patients died in raltively a short time after the onset of the symptoms.Micro-scopic examination of the lungs showed the walls of the air-cells to be hypertrophic with high degree of round cell infiltration. A new type of virus is, isolated from one of the fatal cases.
