坐位鼻内手術に於けるBellocqsche Tamponの使用に就いて

　緒言

　我々は鼻科手術に於いて仰臥位の鼻内手術よりも坐位即ち立位の鼻内手術を愛用して居る。この手術法は種々の点に於いて秀れて居るが，手術中に起る1）脳貧血，2）噴嚏が患者及び術者の負担を大にして居る事は明白である。

　1）脳貧血は主として坐位であること即ち頭部が心臓より高位にあること，又後鼻孔より流下するコカイン水，血液等の嚥下，或はそれ等を喀出する時の口腔内の不快味に依ること。

Ogura and associates suggest the method and size of nasal tampons to be used in nasal operations performed with the patient in a sitting position. The tampons are made of good quality absorbent cotton much in the fashion of those that are used by gynecologi-sts. The size of these tampons are determ-ined by the information of the size of the nasopharygeal space to which they are inten-ded to fill. By use of such tamponage compli-cations such as cerebral anemia or acute otitis media were not met with.
