蛔虫に起因せる急性中耳炎の1例

　序言

　周知の如く動物に依つて嚥下された蛔虫成熟卵は其の小腸内に孵化し幼虫は脱殼して後必ず肺臓に至り一定の発育を遂げ気管に遡り，口腔に出で再び食道，胃を経て小腸に至るものであるが，人体内に於ける蛔虫の異所転移性は屡々複雑なる症状を来すことがある。

　然し直接聴器に侵入して障碍を与える事は比較的稀である。

Ichihara reports that ascaris was the cause of an acute otitis media in a male infant aged 15 months. It was affected with fever, rest-lessness and ear discharge following inoculation with small pox vaccine. But, 5 days after the onset of these symptoms an ascaris 4.5cm in length, a female of the specie, was removed from the discharging left ear.
