Uchida reports a case of otitis media that was caused by intrusion of ascaris from the nasal end of the auditory tube. An acute purulent otitis media developed in a male infant, aged 4, who complained of an acute earache precee-ding the development and who, for 3 days thereto, had suffered severe intermittant cough-ing spells. The drum membrane of the affec-ted ear was incised : 4 days later through this opening was discovered an expulsion of ascaris that measured 8cm in length and 1.5 cm in its largest diameter. After which the recovery in the patient was uneventful.
