上顎洞に原発した鼻硬化腫の1例

　一般に鼻硬化腫は我が国に於ては稀な疾患とされて居り，従つて本邦に於ける文献は大変少いのであるが其の多くは外鼻乃至鼻腔に関する報告主である。然るに最近私は教室に於て上顎洞嚢腫の疑のもとに上顎洞を開放したところ意外にも純粋に上顎洞に限局した鼻硬化腫であつたという大変珍らしい症例を経験したので報告致したい。

Yamakawa reports a case of cancer of maxi-llary sinus which was scirrhus in type. Macro-scopically, the sinus mucous membrane was found to be fibrotic and hardened. Microscopi-cally, the picture presented was that of chronic inflammation but there were a large number of Mikulicz's cells readily recognized. The growth evidently caused undermining of the sinus roof to invade the structures with theocular fossa. The treatment of the sinus cavity consisted of surgical removal of the growth and that of the ocular fossa by irradiation which was combined with admistration of antibiotics. The patient at the time this writing is doing well.
