Hirano and associates report a case of pri-mary nasal tuberculosis. A woman, aged 36, complained of nasal swelling and obstruction, repeated epitaxis and constant headaches. The physical examination, other than beaded enlar-gement of cervical lymph glands, proved to be negative. On the nasal septum anteriorly near the vestibule was revealed a marked swelling which was reddish dark in color, irregular in surface contour and appeared to be in readiness to bleed at least provocation. There were no open ulcers on this surface but the septal car-tilage seemed to be partly disintergrated. The culture for bacillus tuberculosis proved to be negative. The diagnosis of tuberculosis was made from clinical observations and microscopic tissue examination further substantiated this concept. The patient made a full recovery in 68 days of therapy that consisted of surgical drainage, admistration of PAS and INAH by mouth and SM intramuscularly with local appli-cation of INAH on the septal lesion.
