GOTO reports a case of nasal foreign body which led to the death of the patient. An in-fant 21 months of age accidently introduced a chop stick in its nasal cavity that pierced the roof of the nose to enter the cranium, The fo-riegn body was removed 50 hours later with very little nasal bleeding but considerable hem-orrhage had apparently occurred in the cerebr-al cavity with the evidence showing in the ex-amination of the spinal fluid. Subsequently the pateint developed high fever which was somew-hat reponsive to aminopyrene but not to the use of penicillin, streptomycin and aureomycin.
The patient died on the 21st day following the accident.
