微熱と慢性扁桃腺炎

　門司市民病院に勤務中，昭和24年5月から大略一年間に百数例の両側扁桃腺摘出を行い，68例の遠隔成績を得て表を作つた。是等は慢性扁桃腺炎を有するもので微熱患者が非常に多い事が目立つて居る。

　持続的微熱とは7週間以上微熱を発する者で，1年間続いた例もある。時々微熱とは過労，睡眠不足，又は不明な原因によつて発熱するもので，微熱患者を合計すると70％に及んで居る。是等が手術により殆ど治癒して居る点から見て，「微熱の原因が扁桃腺にあつた」と言つても過言ではあるまい。

YASUDA maintains that in examination of patients who are affected with low grade fever the examiner should not concentrate his attent-ion to beginning tuberculosis only but, should extend it to a thorough inspections of the ton-sils. Reporting 68 cases of tonsillectomies perfor-med on chronic tonsillitis he concludes that sym-ptoms simmulating that of tuberculosis are often established by latter afflictions.
