  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 29-year-old male was stung by a wasp in his left cornea. When first seen the next day, the cornea showed sting wound at the 5 o'clock position in the limbus, corneal edema and folds of Descemet membrane. The visual acuity was hand movement. It decreased to 0.03 due to complicated cataract and bullous keratopathy. It improved to 1.2 nine months after penetrating keratoplasty, cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation. The excised cornea showed thinning or partial absence of endothelial cells and formation of a posterior collagenous layer posterior to the intact Descemet membrane.
