スルフアチアゾールと鹽酸エフエドリンの水溶液（BAPPON）の耳鼻咽喉科領域に於ける局所治療成績に就て

　緒言

　鼻炎は風邪の起因とされ，^6）我々生活上最も屡々遭遇する疾患であり，然も鼻閉，鼻内不快感，頭痛はたまたま頑強に快癒しない場合がある．にも拘らず本疾患の治療面及び予防面に於ては確立した有効適切なる化学的物理的療法がなく依然として從來のコカイン，アドレナリン，プロタルゴール等を点鼻して居るが治療効果は余り上つていないし，コカインは麻藥であるため一般には使用されず且つ習慣性中毒性になる恐れもある．此点昨今では化学療法は著しく進歩しその寵兒であるペニシリンを使用して幾多の療法は試みられ鼻内に粉霧し或はTAPLIN ＆ BRYAN^4）に依る煙霧して有効であるとし，アレルギー説より來る抗ヒスタミン剤中ネオヘトラミンは有効なり^6）との報告もあり，又H．GOLDSTEINに依るBEN-ADRYI剤も有効なりと云われているが未だ異論のあるところである．余及び友田製藥研究部村上はアレルギー疾患に有効なる塩酸エフエドリンと，化膿菌に対する卓効を有し然もペニシリン耐性株にも奏効しより経済的なスルフアチアゾールとの水溶液化に成功しこれをBAPPONと名づけ医家のみならず一般家庭に於ても容易に加療することが出來，更に予防医藥として考案したのである．本剤を耳鼻咽喉科領域の諸疾患に対し局所應用を試み次の如き成績を得たので報告する．

　Furuya comes to following conclusions after using "Bappon ", which is an aqueous solution of ephedrine chloride with sulfathiazol, mainly as topical applications in diseases of the ear, nose and throat.

　(1) In acute inflammation of soft tissues in the ear such as external otitis topical application of this agent effected cure in more than 50 per cent of cases.

　(2) Towards allaying symptoms of acute rhinitis its use is highly effective and, if it were prescribed in such form so that patients may be enabled to use it as nasal drops with repeated applications for several times a day, the results were even more efficacious.

　(3) In throat affections the agent may be administered by parenteral injections beside that by topical application to increase its efficacy.

　(4) Repeated adminstration of the agent produced no deleterious effects on the patient.
