錐体外路系異常運動の概念，研究の歴史

Brief historical review of researches on extrapyramidal symptoms

I．はじめに

　錐体外路系症状extrapyramidal symptom，不随意運動involuntary movement,unwillkürliche Bewegung，異常運動abnormal movementはいずれも神経学の領域で，古く前世紀から使われているよく知られた用語である。錐体外路という用語については，おそらくAntonが錐体路障害pyramidale Störungとは異なって錐体外路の障害extrapyramidale motorische Haubenbahnstorung（1895）を記したことが最初の記載ではないかと考えられる。もっとも，大脳基底核の個々についての記載はより古く遡ることができる。その一二をあげれば，たとえばWillis（1664）のcorpus striatumに関する記載，Magendic（1841）のウサギにおける両側線条体切除実験の報告などがある。当時すでに線条体は運動の遂行において末梢からの情報の統合を行ない，末梢へfeedbackする器官であると考えられていた。

Abstract

Extrapyramidal disorders or abnormal involun-tary movements have been interested for long since last century as early as Anton (1895), Sydenham (1726), Huntington (1872), Hammond (1869), Parkinson (1817) and others. The author made a brief review about development of research on these disorders.

Clinical description and neuropathology were studied most intensively around 1920 to 1930,specially by German school of neuropathologists. Most of the today's knowledge about neuropatho-logical basis of each involuntary movement was established during this period.
