運動ニューロン疾患モデル—遺伝性歩容異常マウスの神経解剖学的研究

Animal models for motor neuron disease: mutants with paralytic club feet

　実験動物中央研究所でCF＃1マウスを近親交配している過程で，江崎，安田が麻痺性内反足を呈する歩容異常マウス（図1A：正常マウス，1B：異常マウス）を発見し，常染色体上の1個の主要な劣性遺伝子に支配されていることを報告している^2）。

　このマウスは，正常マウスに比べからだが小さく骨格系には特別の異常は認められないが，生下時よりすでに足関節の自動的背屈と足指の伸展が見られず，その前・外側下腿筋群（マウス前下腿筋群は，前脛骨筋，長趾伸筋，長母趾伸筋，外側下腿筋群は，長腓骨筋，短腓骨筋，第4趾腓骨筋，第5趾腓骨筋の七つの筋肉より構成される）^3）は萎縮し（図2A：正常マウス，2B：異常マウス），これら筋群の運動を支配する浅および深腓骨神経さらには総腓骨神経が肉眼的には認められない（図3A：正常マウス，3B：異常マウス）。

Abstract

　Recently CF # 1 mice with paralytic club feet were discovered at Central Institute for Experimental Animals in Kawasaki. The homozygotic mutant mice, smaller than the normal and heterozygotic mutant ones, could not move feet and toes.

　Macroscopic observation revealed marked atrophy of the anterior and lateral crural muscles and the missing common peroneal nerve trunk. No other musculoskeletal abnormalities were found.

　The condition proved to be inherited with atttosomal recessive pattern.
