経尿道的手術に伴う尿道熱傷の1例

A CASE OF THERMAL INJURY OF URETHRA DUE TO TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF PROSTATE

　経尿道的手術は，前立腺肥大症をはじめとして頻繁に行われる手術法の一つであるが，付随する合併症の中で，普段あまり注意が向けられていない尿道熱傷と思われる1例を経験したので，症例を供覧するとともに，その発生機序，予防法について若干の考察を加え報告する。

A 75-year old man underwent a transurethral resection of prostate for benign prostatic hypertrophy. During operation, the sheath of resectoscope was noticed to be excessively hot. The genesis of which, however, was not explained in particular at that time. Postoperative urethrogram showed the diverticular injury of the penoscrotal area and the residual adenoma on left prostate apex. 17 days later, transu-rethral re-resection was performed. The urethral injury was found to be seriously enlarged to form the urethrocutaneous fistula, after the second operation.
