  • Look Inside

A six-year-old boy was admitted for the evaluation of a recurrent urinary tract infection. He complained of refractory bed-wetting but had no difficulty of urination.

Urinalysis showed mild pyuria. On a cystometric examination bladder capacity was 120 ml and maximal voiding pressure was 120 cm H2O. On plain films spina bifida occulta and lumbosacral vertebra were seen. IVP was normal. Voiding cystourethrography showed bilateral vesicoureteral reflux with paraureteral diverticula and a sharp narrowing portion at the middle portion of the posterior urethra with a marked proximal dilatation.
