わが国の尿管瘤症例は1975年6月現在252例をかぞえる。年間10例前後の症例報告があり，稀な疾患とはいえない。
尿管瘤の統計は数編の報告をみるが，IVP所見，合併率の高い尿路結石など重要な問題の検討を欠くごとく，必ずしも十分な内容とはなしえない。
A 51 year old male with the chief complaint of hematuria was diagnosed as right ureterocele from the dilatation of the lower end of right ureter by I.V.P. but no "cobra head" sign was noticed. Cystoscopic examination revealed a walnut sized ureterocele and a stone was visible from the ureteral orifice. Transvesical simple ureterocelectomy was performed but no reflux occurred postoperatively. The stone sized 27×27×16mm and was consisted of oxalate.
252 cases of ureterocele has been reported in the Japanese literature before June, 1975. The age distribution showed a gradual increase among those below 20 and 19% of them were below 10.
