口蓋扁桃に発生した線維腫の1症例

Fibroma of the Palatine Tonsil

　はじめに

　口蓋扁桃における有茎性腫瘤には，1）真性振子様扁桃，2）いわゆる振子様扁桃，そして腫瘍である，3）振子様腫瘤とがある。腫瘍では悪性リンパ腫を主とする悪性腫瘍が多く，良性腫瘍は比較的少ない。一方，線維腫は線維芽細胞および膠原線維を実質とする良性腫瘍で，頭頸部領域では歯肉，舌，口唇，口腔粘膜などに多くみられるが，口蓋扁桃に発生することは稀である。今回，われわれは口蓋扁桃に発生した線維腫の1症例を経験したので，文献的考察を加え報告する。

A 68-year-old man presented with a mass in the right palatine tonsil. Physical examination revealed a pinkish-white pedunculated mass from the middle to lower part of the right tonsil. Under general anesthesia, the mass was removed with the tonsil. The tumor was oval, firm and measured 35×25×20mm. Histopathological exa-mination revealed proliferation of fibroblasts asso-ciated with collagen fibers covered by stratified squamous epithelium. In this case, it was impos-sible to distinguish the mass as the neoplastic (true fibroma) or the reactive (fibrous polyp).
