Although patients with pendulous tonsil havebeen frequently reported, there are very few reports of lymphangiectatic fibrous polyp of the palatine tonsil.
In this study, a 36-year-old man with lymph-angiectatic fibrous polyp of the palatine tonsil was reported.
He complained of foreign body sensation on swallowing and a pendulous polyp from the lower pole of the left tonsil was found. The polyp wasremoved with the tonsil and it was examined with a light and electron microscope.
The main histological findings were dilated lymphatic vessels and abundant collagen fibrils. The etiology of this tissue has been remained un-known. We, however, suggested that recurrent infection could produce the lymphangiectatic changes on a pendulous tonsil.
