  • Look Inside

A 50-year-old man complaining of left hearing loss of sudden onset that had further progressed and resulted in total deafness. Since then, he had suffered from dizziness and sustaining unsteadiness. For controlling dizziness and unsteadiness, trans-labyrinthine vestibular nerve section was attempted. While the internal auditory canal was opened, a small acoustic tumor was found. Conventional radiograms, CT scan and MRI failed to reveal such a small intracanalicular acoustic tumor. This case indicated that even a very small acoustic tumor could produce sudden hearing loss.
