We investigated 161 patients with oral, pharyngeal and esophageal foreign bodies who visited our hospital between 2007 and 2013. Of the 161 patients, 5 had the foreign bodies in oral cavity, 52 in palatine tonsil, 44 in tongue root, 18 in hypophaynx and 42 in esophagus. Fish bone was the most common foreign body which was occupied 70.8% of all cases. Most of the foreign bodies in oral cavity and pharynx were easily removed under direct vision or flexible endoscopy. Removal of the esophageal foreign bodies were recently performed by the endoscopy for the upper digestive tract.
