I．はじめに

　咽後膿瘍は咽頭後壁と椎体前面の咽頭後間隙に形成される膿瘍である。抗菌薬の早期使用により1960年代以降は比較的稀な疾患となっているが，診断が遅れると呼吸困難や縦隔内進展により致命的になりかねない疾患の1つである。今回，われわれは頸部腫瘤を初発症状とした小児咽後膿瘍の1例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　A 2-year-old girl presented with a neck mass,and the initial diagnosis of suppurative neck lymphadenitis was made and the abscess was incised. After incision,CRP was declined,but white blood cell counts were not. Computed tomography revealed a retropharyngeal abscess. We performed emergency abscess incision,but inflammation of retropharyngeal lymph nodes was developed. Thereafter,suppurative neck lymphadenitis and retropharyngeal abscess were developed.
