  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We prospectively compared two types of intraocular lens (IOL) regarding aftercataract. A series of 25 cataract patients received acryl soft IOL in one eye and silicone IOL in the fellow eye. A standardized protocol was used regarding the surgical procedure, fixation of IOL and antiinflammatory medications before and after surgery. When evaluated one week and one year after surgery, there was no difference in visual acuity, and hence in aftercataract, between eyes implanted with either type of IOL (p=0.2806).
