  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We examined 22 juvenile cases of psychogenicvisual disturbance. The patients and the normalcontrols were asked to fixate on a letter S and apicture of a park and to recall after peception. Thepatients showed shortening of distance, reduction invelocity and lengthening of fixation time. Thesefeatures were essentially the same for the letter Sand the picture. Deviation of point of fixation wassignificantly less for the picture. The findingsseemed to imply that children with psychogenicvisual disturbance tend to overlook in daily life andlose interest in the outside world. Recall was signifi-cantly reduced in the patients, particularly for thepicture of Park. This seemed partly due to lack ofpositive preparedness for the examination.
