  • Look Inside

A 47-year-old female developed geographic choroiditis in her left eye. The affected eye was repeatedly examined by fluorescein and indocyanine green (ICG) angiography for 30 months from 4 months after presumed onset. Fresh lesions showed hypofluorescence throughout the angiographic phases by ICG angiography. The area of hypofluo-rescence was more extensive than that observed by fluorescein angiography. In the areas of hypofluorescence, ICG angiography showed no choriocapillaris and reduced number of major choroidal vessels. During the course of observation for 2 years, ICG angiography showed more numerous major choroidal vessels followed, later on, by dye filling of choriocapil-laris. The observed hypofluorescence was interpreted as blocking effect of edematous retinal pigment epithelium.
