  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We reviewed the outcome of intraocular lens implantation in 40 eyes of 20 patients with cataract and myopia greater than -10 diopters. The postoperative refraction averaged -1.21±0.79D. It became possible for 13 patients to conduct daily activity without eyeglasses. There was no severe complications except intraoperative capsule rupture in 1 eye and aftercataract in 4 eyes. Intraocular lens implantation is advocated for high myopia and cataract because of its safety and predictable correction of refraction.
