  • Look Inside

We reviewed 120 eyes with open angle glaucoma treated by trabeculectomy and subconjunctival 5-fluorouracil. Longstanding postoperative hypotony, defined as intraocular pressure (IOP) lower than 5 mmHg for 6 months, developed in 14 eyes,12%. Reduction in visual acuity not due to cataract was significantly associated with postoperative hypotony (p<0.05). Among the factors studied, mean IOP during the 2 nd postoperative week lower than 5mmHg was associated with higher incidence of longstanding postoperative hypotony.
