Abstract Purpose:To report the risk factors for hypotony caused by laser suture lysis(LSL)after trabeculectomy(TLE).

Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 81 eyes of 81 patients who underwent TLE from April 2016 to March 2018 and subsequent LSL at our institution. Hypotony was defined as intraocular pressure(IOP)≦5 mmHg and either developing shallow anterior chamber or choroidal detachment. The risk factors associated with hypotony were evaluated using multiple logistic regression analysis.

Results:Seven patients(8.6%)developed hypotony after LSL. Statistically, age[odds ratio(OR):1.18)], male sex(OR:62.2), pre-operative IOP(OR:1.22), and days from the date of surgery to initial LSL(OR:0.40)were significantly associated with hypotony(all p<0.05).

Conclusion:Hypotony caused by LSL after TLE may be associated with age, sex, pre-operative IOP, days from the date of surgery to initial LSL.
