Abstract Purpose:To report two cases of lens coloboma with cataract who received cataract surgery.

Cases and Findings:One was a male in his 60's with lens coloboma and cortical cataract in the right eye. The coloboma ranged from 2 to 8 o'clock. Zonules were absent in the area of coloboma. Visual acuity improved from 0.02 to 0.1 after cataract surgery. The other was a female in her 50's with lens coloboma and cortical cataract in the right eye. The coloboma ranged from 1 to 6 o'clock. Zonules were absent in the area of coloboma. Visual acuity improved from 0.4 to 1.2 after cataract surgery. In both cases, a capsular tension ring was used to keep the intraocular lens(IOL)in position. No vitreous loss or zonular avulsion occurred during surgery.

Conclusion:Capsular tension ring was useful to keep the IOL in central position during and after cataract surgery in two eyes with lens coloboma.
