Abstract Purpose:To present a review of cases who were detected to have eye disorders, including glaucoma, during the past 8 years within the framework of specific health check-up system for adults.

Cases and Method:This study was made on 3,508 eyes of 1,755 persons who were referred to us during 8 years from April 2008 through March 2016. All were holders of National Health Insurance policy or latter-stage Elderly Healthcare insurance policy. All were initially screened by slit-lamp microscopy, tonography, funduscopy, and fundus photography. Those who failed in the screening process were tested for visual acuity, corneal thickness, gonioscopy, optical coherence tomography, perimetry, and wide-angle fundus photography.

Results:Cataract was present in 61.2%, diabetic retinopathy in 7.7%, glaucoma in 5.75%, age-related macular degeneration in 1.1%, and other eye disorders in 24.25%.

Conclusion:Incidence of glaucoma was similar to findings by the Tajimi Study. There was an increase regarding the onset of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
