We diagnosed three cases as acute syphilitic retinochoroiditis. All the 3 cases were characterized by unilateral involvement, acute onset and similar-ity in clinical manifestations. The visual acuity was severely impaired in the affected eyes. By fundus-copy, we observed oval-shaped retinochoroidal edema and opacity ranging from 4 to 7 disc diame-ters across. The fundus lesion was well demarcated and was yellowish-white in color. Fluorescein fun-dus angiography indicated the initial lesion to be located at the level of retinal pigment epithelium.

All the 3 cases responded promptly and favorably to systemic ampicilline therapy.
