  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We observed, as reported in an earlier paper, reopening and/or new formation of capillaries in initially non-perfused retinal areas in 7 eyes with diabetic retinopathy treated by photocoagulation during a follow-up period of 1 to 12 months. These eyes were further followed up for 13 to 24 months after treatment.

The reopened and/or newly formed capillary network enlarged in extent and remained well perfused in 6 eyes for 13 to 24 months after photo-coagulation. The capillary network became non-perfused in one eye 22 months after photocoagula-tion.
