糖尿病性網膜症と光凝固術

Photocoagulation in Diabetic Retinopathy

緒言

　著者等はさきに糖尿病性綱膜症（以下単に網膜症と略）に対する光凝固術について述べるところがあつたが，その後症例もふえ，観察期間も1年以上を経過した症例もあり，さらに前回触れなかった術前後の視野及び螢光眼底像の変化，全身症状との関係並びに合併症についても，併せ述べたいと思う。

Photocoagulation was conducted to 54 eyes in 32 cases with diabetic retinopathy of severe to moderate degrees and was followed up for 3 to 14 months.

1. An improvement in visual acuity set in 16 eyes after photocoagulation. The visual acui-ty remained stationary in 30 eyes and deterio-rated in 8 eyes. The improvement in vision paralleled that of pathological processes in the macular area.

2. Improvement in diabetic retinopathy oc-curred in 26 eyes when judged in terms of sta-ges of retinopathy (after Scott). 50% of III_a and 40% of III_b cases were delegated to less severe categories following the treatment.
