Fluorescein angiography was carried out in 75 eyes with diabetic maculopathy, and the perfusing condition of the perifoveal capillary network was studied with reference to the prognosis of the visual acuity after photocoagulation therapy.
The initial visual acuities of eyes with poorly-perfused capillary network were significantly worse than those with well-perfused capillary network and the former eyes reacted poorly to the treatment.
A conclusion was made that the perfusing condition of the perifoveal capillary network was an important factor related with the prog-nosis of the visual acuity.
