糖尿病性網膜症に対する光凝固術

Photocoagulation for Diabetic Retinopathy

緒言

　現在Meyer-Schwickerathによつて考案された光凝固装置の用途は広く多岐にわたつている。糖尿病性網膜症（以下本症と略す）に対する光凝固術の有効性はすでに証明されている。しかし，そのほとんどは病期のかなり進行したもので，比較的早期に加療を始めた報告はあまり見当たらない。われわれは対象の大半をScott　Ⅱ_aとして，最高20カ月の観察期間を経たのでその結果を報告する。

Twenty-three cases of diabetic retinopathywere treated by xenon photocoagulation. They were divided into two groups: the 1st group having both eyes treated (6 cases: 12 eyes) and the 2nd group having either eye treated (17 cases: 17 eyes). Periods of observation ranged from 4 to 20 months.

The results were as follows:

1. In the 1st group, 3 eyes showed a favora-ble result, but 7 eyes remained unchanged and 2 eyes took a bad turn.
