　透析療法中の糖尿病性網膜症患者10例20眼について，その透析導入前後の経過を臨床的に検討し，次のような結果を得た。

（1）腎機能低下のある糖尿病患者の網膜症は，進行したものが多い。

（2）透析導入直後に眼底出事血の増多を示した例は，眼底透見可能例の87.5％を占め，この原因としてheparinの関与を考えた。

（3）腎機能低下を伴う糖尿病性網膜症に対しても，早期の光凝固は有効に思われた。

　したがって，糖尿病性網膜症の管理にあたっては，眼科医としても患者の腎機能には十分な注意を払って，網膜症が急速に進行する可能性がある場合には早期に汎網膜光凝同術等の治療を行うべきであると考えだ。

The ophthalmological observation was performed in 20 eyes of 10 patients with diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy who underwent maintenance hemodialysis.

At the start of hemodialysis, 6 patients (9 eyes) had good visual acuity (above 0.5) and 3 patients (4eyes) were already blind (below 0.01). Six months after the start of hemodialysis, 8 patients (14 eyes) showed the advancement of retinopathy including vitreoretinal hemorrhge. In these 14 eyes, 8 eyes showed deterioration of visual acuity.
