  • Look Inside

To identify the location of the loop of posterior chamber intraocular lens (PIOL), patient eyes with PIOL implant were clinically examined by cyclo-scopy and computerized tomography (CT). Ex-perimental PIOL implant was done in the human donor eyes through the corneal trephining wound. The position of the loop was observed posteriorly. To clarify the tissue reactions surrounding the loop, rabbit eyes which were sacrificed 1 month after PIOL implant were subjected to the histological study.

By cycloscopy, the loop ran parallel to the stretched posterior lens capsule.
