We evaluated the status of the eye after implantation of Shearing posterior chamber intraocular lens by means of ultrasonography, pachometry and specular microscopy of the cornea. The depth of the anterior chamber averaged 3.45±0.33 mm during the immediate postoperative period as compared with the anterior chamber depth of 3.05±0.36 mm of the unoperated fellow eye. The thickness of the cornea in 40 eyes averaged 0.516|+0.021 mm prior to surgery, 0.612 mm one week after surgery and 0.525 mm 5 weeks after surgery. The corneal thick-ness returned to the presurgical level at the end of 12 weeks.
