虹彩平滑筋腫の1例

A case of leiomyoma of the iris

　ブドウ膜炎で初発し，続いて右眼にもブドウ膜炎が発症し，その経過中に左眼平滑筋腫が発見された1例を報告し，その手術所見，病理組織学的所見について考按した。

　虹彩の平滑筋腫は，光顕像のみでは，neurofibroma, amelanotic malignant melanoma，やschwannoma等と鑑別することが困難で，その鑑別診断には電顕による検索が必要である。

　虹彩平滑筋腫は臨床的に他の虹彩悪性腫瘍と鑑別できないため，腫瘍の部位，大きさ，浸潤状態を十分に検査した上で，適当な術式を選択すべきである。

Leiomyoma of the iris in the left eye of a 44-year-old male was removed by basal iridectomy and was subjected to histopathological studies. This case had been treated with corticosteroid for uveitis for the past 6 months. As leiomyoma of the iris is extremely rare, differential diagnosis of leiomyoma from amelanotic malignant melanoma, schwannoma and neurofibrinoma should be made by electron microscopic means. Because of difficul-ty in the differential diagnosis of malignant tumors of the iris on clinical features, the therapeutic ap-proach will have to be determined with the various possibilities in mind.
