緒言
前立腺の平滑筋腫はきわめて稀な疾患であり，諸外国においても，1876年Lebeeにより"子宮筋腫に類似せる前立腺筋腫"として報告されて以来37例が報告されているにすぎない。本邦においては，小島が1917年第1例を報告して以来4例を数えるのみである。最近われわれも，71歳の男子にこの症例を経験し得たので報告する。
True leiomyoma of the prostate are rare. There have been only forty-one cases recorded.
An additional case, a male aged 71 years complaining difficulty and frequently in urination was reported.
Preoperative diagnosis was benign prostatic hypertrophy and was explored by the usual suprapubic approach.
The tumor sized 4.5×4.0×3.7cm, weighed 30g, and mass occupied of the right lateral lobe.
Histological pattern of the tumor showed the typical appearance of a benign leiomyoma, not containing glandular elements.
